As the son of schoolteachers and the grandson of a former president of Morehouse College, Alan brings a lifelong commitment to education into every client relationship. He believes informed clients make better financial decisions and places a high value on his role as an educator as clients work toward achieving their financial goals.

In addition to meeting the rigorous education, examination, and ethical standards required to earn the CFP® certification and the Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) designation, Alan holds multiple professional registrations and licenses. These include Series 6 and 7 General Securities Registrations, Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent, and Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law registrations, held through LPL Financial and Colonial River Investments. He is also licensed in Life, Annuity, and Variable Contracts insurance in Virginia and several other states, including North Carolina, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, Massachusetts, Colorado, Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Vermont, Texas, Washington and Califorina.

Beyond his professional practice, Alan is deeply committed to service, personal growth, and family. An Eagle Scout, he learned early the importance of leadership and community involvement and later served on the Executive Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg. An avid soccer fan and former competitive soccer player and cyclist, Alan is also a two-time Ironman-distance triathlon finisher. In 2023, he reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa’s highest peak at 19,341 feet. He and his wife, Christine, are raising their two children, Morgan and Wesley, in Yorktown, Virginia—an experience that continues to shape his perspective on planning for the future and protecting what matters most.
